Spent 4 hours in the garage

I repacked the front wheel bearings, removed the front fender, removed the reflectors, adjusted the hand controls, lowered the seat, adjusted the rear wheel (which is reallllly bent and needs replacing), broke a lollipop adjuster while doing so, got a piece of very expensive spark plug wire and made it fit my moped (MSD), cleaned the headlight and speedometer glass, removed the lower black air splitter thingy, added a ground wire from the head to the coil, lubed up the speedometer gear, put both tires up to 36 PSI found out that the Bat is a 1977, and  lubed both chains with 10-30 oil.

I have to take off the front wheel again because I don’t have the right tool to tighten the bearing seat nut and the wheel wobbles a little too much for my liking.

Tomorrow hopefully I can get to storage to get my petcock and if I still have it my rear wheel and Dellorto carburetor.

I need to also grab my Bing jets if I still have them because I may end up using the Encarwi Carb. If not I will have to fab up an intake for the dellorto, or may be il try to throw a weedwacker carb on it so I CAN adjust the mixture easily.

The other night I was on moped chat with Saab just shooting the shit about clutches and he brought up the lawnmower clutch idea where you have slack in the belt when the clutch is disengaged and when you engage the clutch a pulley with a spring comes down and puts tension on the belt therefore making the moped move, it would be really fun I think and it would get rid of so much rotational mass from the stock bulky clutch therefore making me faster on acceleration and top speed because It will allow the motor to rev up higher.  Its late and I feel like im floating so im going to bed.

    Hey!

Sweet blog, I always love to see more people tuning Batavus.

I have a few projects underway, but haven’t put them on my blog, other than the BataPuch.

    Keep posting!!

yeah, keep updating! i have a 77 VA and a 77 HS50 i’m working on now. the VA is in pretty good shape but seems to be 4-stroking alot and needs the rear wheel rim replaced. the HS50 runs well but the carb has a leak somewhere and the rear shocks are like marshmallow.
